It keeps tripping the fuse in the fuse box when we switch it on - believe it’s an earthing issue

It could have been that when it was cleaned this removed the problem (if leak to earth fault) but talking to the owner it seems that the most likely cause is defective MCB in consumer unit (CU is being replaced as part of a kitchen refurbishment currently).
