Has been stored for long period - dimming of operation lamp either due to motor attempting to operate consuming too much power or failed capacitors in the electronic controls.

With batteries installed, operation light turns on, but then fades? Power source issue - motor does not respond to controls.

Based was removed and low torque gears were turned by hand, this presumably freed up whatever was jamming up the motors. Otherwise all lubrication of the motors seemed to be

The motor is incredibly low torque and is geared right down, so very little dirt is need to stop the motor turning.
