What did you do to repair it?
One of the side would not collapse correctly. Unsewed part of the covering to reveal mechanism of jammed side. The mechanism works by having rods that are sprung forced to lock the side arms, the sides are collapsed by pushing the rods out of the locking position with a mechanical part that overcomes the spring. One of the locking rods was jammed in place. Metal from the rods had been bent out of position and was jamming the locking rod from being able to retract. Used hacksaw blade to removed distorted metal jamming mechanism. The mechanism now works but is not smooth due to excess force used when broken. The underlying fault appears to be a manufacturing defect, where one of the retaining fixing had not been properly compressed and so allowed mechanism to become misaligned. Impossible to fully compress fixing but fault should not recur. User assemble and disassembled the cot several times, explained that gentle vibration rather than force would allow collapse and avoid recurrence of the issue.
