Brake block retaining nuts loose on front. Arm spring on back brake popped out. Rear mudguard rubbing on tyre.

Had I notice the rear mud guard rubbing on the type, I would have been able to set the brakes up more rapidly. So - always replace a repair with a mind open to a range of possible causes of the problem!
