This toy was made from natural material back in the 1900s. This kangaroo is 125 years old. And made from kangaroo skin. Stitching was very compromised. Out of scrap calico, I created biscuits. I slid them under the skin and fabric, glued in place. Once dried, I close the hole and glued the other sides into place.
Where the head, tail and feet had worn was where the metal rods had worn the fabric and skin bare. Re stuffed over rods then placed calico over and glued into place. Tried hard to restore empatheticaly so as to not distract from its originality.
